Eat More Vegetables and Fruit

Studies have shown that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Have at least one vegetable or fruit with each meal or snack to achieve your daily recommended servings.

Tips for Adding Vegetables and Fruit to Your Diet:

  • Add chopped bananas, apples, pears or other fruit to cereals and blender drinks
  • Add cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, dried apricots or other vegetables and fruits to packed lunches
  • Stir grated, cut up or frozen mixed vegetables into casseroles, lasagna, chili, soup, stews and rice dishes
  • Snack on cut up fruit dipped in yogurt or vegetables and low fat dip instead of cookies, donuts, chips and candy.
